big kids helping little kids
Helping the youth one friendship at a time!
"It is difficult for me to talk about [Mālama Mentors] without crying tears of gratitude.
We moved to Hawaii from Washington. My daughter was new to the school...the weekly visits lifted her spirits and boosted her self-esteem. We are forever grateful for Taylor, [a Mālama Mentor], and the program...A lot of improvements with her reading and familiarities with the alphabet and math.”

This program was really life changing for me because when I was a kid I didn't have anyone to look up to. And to see my child, Landon, every week! He would run up to me and say "Simon!" [gestures big hug] which really makes you go "wow." We really have fun with these children and get to see how they change, too.

This experience really opened me up. Before this, I was kind of shy and didn't want to open up to people. Because of Mālama Mentors I got to open up and show more of who I am.
